NEW MQSCX Example Script

Sometimes the best way to learn to use a new program, is to see examples.

Script and Command PromptIf you’re new to MQSCX, you may find our example scripts very useful as a basis for creating your own. You can get the Example Scripts download from the MQSCX Download page on our website.

We’ve just added a new script to the package, one donated by a customer. This script is called mqauthlist.mqx and its purpose is to create a report (written to a file) that shows the current authorization settings for one or more IBM MQ Queue Managers.

Here are some example lines from the report it generates.

MQ Authorization Report for MQG1 on January 8th, 2016

As well as being a very useful script in its purpose, it is also an excellent demonstration of some of new features recently added in a refresh of MQSCX. A few more posts will be written to illustrate these new features, using this new script as an example, so watch out for those.

The best way to understand scripts is of course to try them out yourself. If you are not currently an MQSCX licence holder, you may email support@mqgem.com to request a trial licence.
